I hope to learn better leadership skills from
this course. I have been dealing with time management issues as well as
trying to juggle to many things at once. My job just gave me an
additional class to teach which has affected my performance in this online
course. I do not get a planning period anymore, but I teach English I, II, III,
and IV. I hope this class can teach me ways to be effective without over
working myself. I want my students to be able to see that I can handle
the load without it affecting my attitude toward them.
I feel that learning better time management skills will help enhance my leadership skills because this trait is one of the most common and most important as it pertains to leadership. I would also like to learn more about the type of planner I should be. I am easily sidetracked and would like to become a little more focused on the task at hand. In this personal leadership course, I expect to learn how to manage my personal success as well as my flaws. Learning how to master my flaws will help me become better at mastering my success. I am excited about this course and I really want to be a team player. Hopefully, the weeks to come will prove that leadership is an important aspect of my livelihood. Being a leader at my school is tedious, but I want to be the best teacher and help other teachers do the same.

Hey Maggie! I feel like I am the same in terms of getting sidetracked very easy. (Especially if the task is something that I am not too interested in!) I am definitely hoping to learn how to focus more on tasks the seem tedious.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I can't imagine teaching four preps with no planning!! That is very difficult, and I commend you for making it through the year. I am sure that planning for four levels is hard, and especially even harder when it's on your own time! I hope that you learn the time management skills you want in this course! Good luck!!

ReplyDeleteI love that your first thought was about your students and how you wanted to show them that you were strong and that you can do anything that you put your mind to. I admire you for taking on this challenge while have all those classes with no planning! Your students will see that too. Time Management is always a big thing for me, I always have to remind myself to stay focused and complete a task. I feel very similar to that dog in the Up movie...He would be walking along, focused on something and then he was yell squirrel! That is so me!
